The book is based on true events and built from extensive newspaper research and local histories. Cement, Caddo County. Mill town named 1902. Dry state 1907–1959. A volatile early-Oklahoma stretch, reconstructed rather than costumed.
That is the foundation. Everything later has to stand on it.
What "series" means here
It means more than one Cement-rooted book is intended. It does not mean we will invent titles, fake release dates, or spoil volumes that are not finished. Book 1 earns the series name by existing. Later books earn their numbers by matching the same research standard.
If you have been burned by "Book 1 of 7" marketing where Book 2 never arrives, this stance is for you. We would rather under-promise. A series ASIN is a container, not a cliffhanger calendar. You can buy Book 1 without pretending the rest of the shelf is already printed.
Why a series fits Cement at all
A single novel can show how a small town splits when pressure rises. A series can return to the same county with new pressure points without pretending one 159-page volume exhausted the papers. Newspapers and local histories are deep wells. Early Oklahoma has more than one volatile stretch.
